Roland GR 55 Gitarren-Synthesizer :
Unter den Profis gibt es ja mehrere Anhänger von Gitarren-Synthesizern. Robert Fripp, Pat Metheny, Steve Hackett und andere.
Was mir am GR 55 besonders gefällt ist, das neben der zweifachen Synth Sektion auch ein Gitarren-Modelling (vgl. VG 99) und das Original-Gitarrensignal im Soundpatch eingebaut werden kann. Auf diesem Wege kann man zum "normalen Gitarrensound weitere Klangkomponenten hinzugefügen und so Sounds kreieren, die mit keinem Effektgerät möglich sind.
Ich käme nicht auf die Idee eine Pianopassage mit dem GR55 einzuspielen; der Sound wäre verfügbar, da nehme ich doch lieber eine Tastatur. Wenn aber z.B. eine cleane E-Gitarre noch mit einem E-Pianosound bereichert werden soll, dann kommt der GR55 ins Spiel.
Ich habe auf "The lighthouse" reichlich Gebrauch vom GR55 gemacht.

Eine der Vorteile, wenn man nicht in einer festen Band ist, besteht darin, locker in wechselnde Zusammensetzungen arbeiten zu können.
Dank schnellem Internet kann der musikalische Partner dann auch von der anderen Seite der Welt kommen. und dafür gibt mittlerweile eine Vielzahl von Möglichkeiten.
Zum einen die Plattform basierten Angebote wie Digitalmusician, Sofasession oder Soundtrap. Darüber hinaus systemeigene wie etwa Cubase/VST Connect oder musicianlink und es kommen weiter neue hinzu.
Ich habe diese Form der "Horizont-Erweiterung" für mich entdeckt und bin auf den o.a. Plattformbasierten Portalen angemeldet.

Among the pros, there are several followers of guitar synths. Robert Fripp, Pat Metheny, Steve Hackett and others.
What I particularly like about the GR 55 is, that in addition to the two-path synth section there is also a Guitar modeling (see VG 99) and the original guitar signal in the soundpatch possible. In this way you can add more sound components to the normal guitar sound, and create sounds that are not possible with any effects device.

I would not come up with the idea of record a pianopassage with the GR55; the sound would be available, but I prefer a keyboard there for.
However, if e.g. a clean electric guitar is to be enriched with a E-Pianosound, the GR55 comes into play.
I have made ample use of the GR55 on "The lighthouse".

One of the advantages when one is not in a tight band, is that you can work in steady changing formations.
Thanks to the fast Internet, the musical partner can also come from the other side of the world.
and there are now a variety of possibilities to do so.
On the one hand there are platform-based offers such as Digitalmusician, Sofasession or Soundtrap.
In addition there are systemincluded ones like Cubase / VST Connect or musicianlink and new ones are added.
I have discovered this form of a "horizon extension" for myself and am registered to the above mentioned platform-based portals.
